Formic Acid

Formic Acid is most commonly used as antimicrobial agent and preservative for livestock feed. It is considered as simplest carboxylic acid with chemical formula CH2O2 and molar mass of 46.03 g/mol. This acid is also known to find application in production of leather products and for dyeing textiles as well. It is known to have colorless appearance with fumigating nature and penetrating odor. This chemical compound has density of 1.220 g/mol with boiling point of 100.8 degrees Celsius. It is miscible in water, ether, and glycerol. Formic Acid is also used as an intermediate in synthesis of various chemicals.
